45TH PCT, VOLUNTEERS RID NEIGHBORHOOD OF GRAFFITI
On Saturday, April 27, 45th Precinct Neighborhood Coordination Offi cers police offi cers Isaura Santos & Eddie Reyes of Sector A, worked alongside the 45th Precinct Explorers and the
community, to tackle one of the quality-of-life issues around the precinct. Because of their efforts the 45th Precinct and Community Board 10 are approximately 90% graffi ti free!
Volunteers helped remove graffi ti from every surface throughout the community.

Councilman Mark Gjonaj and Bronx Chamber of Commerce host Reusable Bag Giveaway on Friday, April 26 at Gjonaj’s district offi ce. In honor of Earth Day reusable bags were distributed
at the councilman’s offi ce as everyone strives to build a greener environment.

The Bronx Women’s Bar Association hosted a Holocaust Remembrance ceremony on Monday, April 29 at Bronx Hall of Justice - Room 691. Holocaust survivor Helena Anna Polack shared
hers and her family’s story of hiding from the Nazis in barns, fi elds and forests when she was 14-years-old, surrendering to Nazi forces at age 16 and worked in Nazi Labor Camp before
her liberation. The event also featured live music by Bglig String Orchestra : The Bronx Global Learning Institute for Girls String Orchestra, Amanda Moreno playing Joe Feingold’s violin
featured in the documentary ‘Joe’s Violin’ and a question and answer session following the presentation.
