GJONAJ CELEBRATES ALBANIAN
INDEPENDENCE
Councilman Mark Gjonaj served as co-host to Albanian Independence
events both in his district and in the NYC City Council chambers. Many
people took the opportunity to celebrate the Albanian heritage, along
with their culture and successes. The festive celebratory events were
attended by elected offi cials from around the boroughs.

PRESTON PARTICIPATES IN
CHALLENGE DAY
Preston High School participated in a Challenge Day assembly on Monday,
November 26. The assembly featured interactive learning exercises,
music and powerful life stories and lessons from highly trained Challenge
Day facilitators.
Challenge Day inspired students and faculty to live, study and work in an
environment of acceptance, love and respect.

Councilman Rafael Salamanca attended the monthly Hunts Point & Longwood Community Coalition meeting
along with Urban Health Plan, 41st Precinct, Community Board 2, Southern Blvd Business Improvement District,
Bronx Legal Services and key stakeholders in the community to discuss work happening in the district and at
City Hall.
