ACAPELLA PERFORMERS
AT UNIVERSITY CENTER
Fourteen extremely talented young women from Yale University
did an amazing acapella performance for the residents
and staff at University Center on Grand Avenue on Tuesday,
January 8. Called ‘Proof of the Pudding Performance,’ the
women not only sang together, but interacted with the residents
which made the residents smile from ear to ear. The
show lasted an hour and the group did a variety of music,
from show tunes, pop, R&B to spiritual.

GJONAJ DONATES TOYS TO MONTE CHILDREN
Councilman Mark Gjonaj donated toys to children and families at the Rose F. Kennedy CERC Program at Montefi ore Hospital.
The program serves over 7,000 children and adults a year who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, such as
autism, adhd, spina bifi da, speech, language diffi culties and learning disabilities.

KING, MACY’S DISTRIBUTE NEW WINTER COATS
On Tuesday, January 15, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, Councilman Andy King partnered with Macy’s and Clothes-
4Souls to give the gift of 1,000 new coats this winter to residents at 801 E. Gun Hill Road.

DIAZ CALLS FOR NYC PUBLIC TRANSIT CONTROL

Transportation Authority’s proposed public
transit fare hikes and to call for a reorganization
of the agency that gives control of local
public transit back to NYC.
