West Indies crushed England by
381 runs with a day to spare in the
first Test at Kensington Oval, Barbados
last week — as records tumbled.
Part-time off-spinner Roston
Chase took a career best 8-60 in England
second innings at the crease.
England was hard pressed to win,
not with a target of 628, but was
expected to fight for two days to survive
on a placid pitch.
They were humiliated in the first
innings by scoring 77 all out- their
fourth lowest score against the West

Fast bowler Kemar Roach ripped

by director of cricket Jimmy Adams,

CCC crowned
T20 Champs
By Azad Ali
The Combine Campuses and Colleges
(CCC) were crowned champions of the
inaugural World University Twenty20
competition when they defeated Oxford
University in the final at UWISPEC in
St. Augustine, Trinidad last Sunday.
In a low-scoring match, the CCC
team prevailed to add the University
title to the Regional Super50 crown
they won in November, last year.
Batting first, the CCC made 135 for
9 off their allotted 20 overs with opener
Kjorn Ottley top scoring with 36.
He faced 19 deliveries and struck
six fours and a six. He and Kyle Corbin
(22), gave the CCC a good start, as they
added 51 for the first wicket.
After their partnership was broken,
Oxford fired back with quick wickets.
