West Indies Women clinched the
three-match Twenty20 series (2-1)
against Pakistan in the final Twenty20
at the Southend Club Cricket
Stadium a week ago.
A blistering half-century from Nida
Dar and a three-wicket haul by leftarm
spinner Anmam Amin ensured
that Pakistan avoided a whitewash in
the final game.
Dar’s knock of 53 came from 40
balls propelled Pakistan to their highest
total of the three-match series,
finishing on 150 for six from their
20 overs.
The West Indies entered the match
already assured of clinching the series
after winning the first two matches.
Unlike the previous matches, West
Indies batters never fired, with only
Deandra Dottin and Natasha McClean
putting up any form for of resistance.

CPL tourney
starts in Sept.

The Hero Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) will bowl of this year’s edition
from Aug. 21 to Sept. 27, with the opening
round of matches taking place in
Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
West Indies will return to these two
countries for the playoffs and finals
once again.
“For the second successive year the
very best of the cricketing talent in the
Caribbean will be taking part in the
CPL, with Windies’ centrally-contracted
players available for the majority of the
tournament,” CPL said in a statement.
