Former West Indies team manager,
Ricky Skerrit is the new
president of Cricket West Indies
(CWI). His running mate Dr.
Kishore Shallow has been elected
vice-president.
Skerrit defeated the incumbent
Dave Cameron, who was seeking a
fourth consecutive term. Dr. Shallow,
the current president of the
St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Cricket Association has replaced
Emmanuel Nathan, 84, as vicepresident.
Both, who will serve for the next
two years, were elected during the
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on
Sunday.
Cameron has expressed surprise
over his defeat, saying he did not
need to campaign to be reelected

sues CWI

Former West Indies cricket coach
Phil Simmons is seeking close to
US$300,000 from Cricket West Indies
(CWI) for wrongful dismissal as West
Indies coach. Simmons, the current
Afghanistan coach, has claimed damages
for more than US$300,000 with a
final sum to be agreed at a court date in
Antigua on March 26, 2019.
With legal costs included, the civil
suit could cost CWI US$400,000 or

No clash in
tourneys

The Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) will no longer clash with the
Indian tour of the Caribbean, as the
organizers of the CPL have decided to
change the dates of the tournament.
Originally, the 2019 CPL was due
to be played from Aug. 17 to Sept. 30
but this would have clashed with the
Indian tour of the Caribbean and the
end of the World Cup in England.
The World Cup ends on July 25 and
according to regulation set in place
by the Board of Control for Cricket in
India (BCCI), the team cannot embark
on a new tour before 15 days have
