Chris Gayle scored the fastest
half-century by a West Indian in
One-Day Internationals (ODIs) last
week, to take the West Indies to
a seven-wicket victory over England
to share the Colonial Medical
Insurance Cup 2-2 in the
five-match series. One match was
abandoned because of rain.
After winning the Wisden Test
series 2-1, the Windies came back
after twice being down in the
series, to share the trophy with
England.
Fast bowler Oshane Thomas
demolished the England batting,
taking five wickets to bowl out
England for a paltry 113 — their
lowest one day score against the
West Indies.

Former St. Kitts cabinet minister
and West Indies team manager, Ricky
Skerrit is throwing his hat in the ring
to unseat Cricket West Indies (CWI)
president Dave Cameron at this month’s
elections in Jamaica.
The 62-year-old will have as his partner
Dr. Kishore Shallow, who is contesting
the post of vice-president.
Dr. Shallow is the current president
of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Cricket Association Inc. and a CWI
director.
Their nominations are supported
by the Leeward Islands Cricket Board

became the first West Indies
Women player to compete in 100
Twenty20 Internationals when she
played in the team’s recent comprehensive
71-run victory overs hosts
Pakistan in Dubai.
She celebrated her achievement by
taking 2 wickets for 17 runs.
Mohammed currently holds the
record as the leading Twenty20 International
wicket-taker (male or female)
with 115 wickets.
She had to endure a rough period
last year when she did not bowl a single
delivery — despite being fit — at
the ICC World Women’s Twenty20
World Cup in the Caribbean.
