West Indies openers, John
Campbell and Shai Hope set a
world record One-Day International
(ODI) stand of 365 to romp to
an emphatic 196-run victory over
Ireland in the first match of the
Tri-Nation Series at the Clontarf
Cricket Club, in Dublin, Ireland.
Campbell, who scored 179 and
Hope who cracked 170 runs for the
first wicket to propel West Indies to
381 for 3, their second highest ever
One-Day International total.
Hope and Campbell became the
second openers to both score 150
runs in an One-Day International.
They broke the previous highest
One-Day International opening
stand of 304 between Pakistan’s
Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq
set last year.

Vincy girls set
new record

In their eighth outing at the prestigious
Penn Relays Carnival at the University
of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, the
Thomas Saunders Secondary School
(TSSS) girls broke the school’s record
for the 4 x 400m.
Competing in their heat on Thursday,
May 2, the girls clocked 4 min., 5.7
sec., in placing second and eclipsing the
school’s previous record of 4 min., 6 sec.
in the 4 x 400m.
The team comprised Tiwanny John,
Shahalia Lynch, Daniella Lewis and
Kaylia Edwards.
