Three Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) stars, Brendon King, Lendl Simmons
and Hayden Walsh Jr. have been
selected in the West Indies squad for the
upcoming matches against Afghanistan,
that will be played in India from
Nov. 5 to Dec. 1.
West Indies and Afghanistan will play
three One-Day Internationals (ODIs),
three Twenty20 Internationals and one
Test match.
The squads for all three formats
were announced last week by Cricket
West Indies (CWI) selectors headed by
Roger Harper at the Queen’s Park Oval,
Trinidad.
King and Walsh Jr. are in the One-
Day International and Twenty20 squads
and Simmons is included in the T20
squad.

The Hero Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) has announced the team of tournament,
which recently ended in Trinidad
with Barbados Tridents taking the
title for a second time.
Pakistani Shoaib Malik, who successfully
led the Guyana Amazon Warrior
to a record 11 straight victories, was
named captain.

Trinidadian Gus Logie is now the
interim head coach of the West Indies
Women’s team.
He has replaced Henderson Springer
who had performed head coach role
since the removal of Vasbert Drakes.
In making the announcement, Cricket
West Indies (CWI) also announced
a new team manager in Evril Betty
Lewis.
Logie will guide the preparation pf
the women’s team for their month-long
series against the visiting Indian team,
which starts on Nov. 1 in Antigua.
Logie was the assistant coach of the
women’s team since 2017. CWI in a
release said the recruitment process for
a new long-term head coach will begin
immediately.
