Hungry thief
had meth pipe
A shoplifter at a Chelsea deli
was found in possession of drug
paraphernalia, police said.
Police said the man allegedly
took several items of food from
the Park Fresh Deli, at 194 Eighth
Ave. at 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 29. The
crook’s grocery list included two
bagels with cream cheese and jelly,
a muffin, and seven Babybel minicheeses.
Cops located the man and
searched him, finding a glass pipe
from a shorts pocket with alleged
meth residue.
Ramon Gomez, 30, was arrested
for petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Bank robber gets
meager score
A man robbed a Wells Fargo bank,
though he got away with a rather small
haul, according to police. The incident
occurred at 777 Sixth Ave., on the afternoon
of Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Just before 3 p.m., a man approached
a teller and allegedly passed a note demanding
money. The teller complied,
and the man fl ed with a total of $150,
offi cials said. There were no injuries reported
from the incident.
Anyone with information about the
wanted man is asked to contact NYPD’s
Crime Stoppers.

He didn’t know his own strength
after causing damage inside
a Police Department tow pound
on the West Side, according to a
police report.
On Sunday, Sept. 29, a man
punched a wall inside 408
12th Ave., which is an NYPD
Chelsea man gets 30 yrs. for killing dad
A Chelsea man was sent to prison
for at least the next three decades
on Sept. 27 for shooting his father
to death in his Midtown Manhattan
apartment, prosecutors announced.
Thomas Gilbert Jr., 35, of West
18th Street was convicted back in
June of second-degree murder and
criminal possession of a weapon.
A judge ordered him on Friday to
serve 30 years to life in prison.
According to Manhattan District
Attorney Cy Vance Jr., the junior
Gilbert shot his father —Thomas
Gilbert Sr., a millionaire, retired
hedge fund manager — at close
range on the afternoon of Jan. 4,
2015 in the victim’s Beekman Place
apartment, then staged the crime
scene to make it appear as if his dad
had taken his own life.
According to trial testimony, Gilbert
tow pound.
After the wall punch, the man
said, “I did not mean to punch it
that hard.”
Erick Corporan, 30, was arrested
for criminal mischief,
a misdemeanor.

Jr. — who lived a life of luxury
and graduated from Princeton University,
as the New York Post reported
— had been receiving a monthly
allowance from his parents, which
he used for personal expenses such
as travel and gain membership to
elite sports clubs.
Starting in 2014, they had begun
reducing his allowance
and encouraging him to be
more self-suffi cient.
In June 2014, prosecutors said,
Gilbert Jr. bought a .40-caliber
Glock handgun, along with ammunition
and fi rearm enhancement,
from a person in Clarksburg, Ohio.
The gun was found at the crime
scene, and ammunition and the
fi rearm enhancement were found
during a search of Gilbert Jr.’s home.

Construction worker lashes out at driver
A construction worker punched a driver when he didn’t obey a traffi c direction,
according to police.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, around 11:30 p.m., a man was driving on West 37th
Street and 11th Avenue, when a construction worker allegedly came up to his
car and yelled “Stop, don’t you see the sign?”
The victim, 36, said the worker also screamed, “Stop, stop sign!” The construction
worker then punched the driver in the face, offi cials said.
The victim called 911 and police responded to the scene. At that point, the
man chose not to fi le a report, but four days later he went to the 10th Precinct
and said he wanted a report fi led because he wasn’t feeling well.
Cops described the construction worker as a 35-year-old white man standing
5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Gramercy
Robbers spray and
beat deliveryman
Four robbers beat up a deliveryman
and sprayed him in the face
with a chemical while robbing him
on a Gramercy street Monday night,
police reported.
Law enforcement sources said the
attack happened at about 9 p.m. on
Sept. 30 as the 36-year-old deliveryman
dropped off food at an apartment
building on East 24th Street near
3rd Avenue.
According to authorities, the four
bandits approached the deliveryman
soon after he arrived on the scene, and
demanded that he hand over his iPhone
and bicycle.
When he refused, cops reported, the
group went on the attack, punching
the deliveryman in the face. One of the
robbers then displayed a knife, while
another sprayed the victim with an unknown
substance.
The four thieves then took the deliveryman’s
phone and bicycle and
fl ed eastbound along East 24th Street,
authorities said.
Offi cers from the 13th Precinct and
EMS units responded to the incident.
Paramedics treated the victim at the
scene for his injuries.
As shown on the Citizen app, numerous
police units responded and canvassed
the area for the suspects, but the
search ended without any arrests made,
according to police.
Sources familiar with the investigation
described the suspects as four
Hispanic males.
The investigation is ongoing.
