immigrants. Nearly 1.1
million of them live in
Queens, which has come to be
one of, if not the most ethnicallly
diverse places in the world.
In the “World’s Borough,”
we don’t have to look far to get
different tastes of culture.
Queens’ diversity starts with
our rich history.
Historians know that
diversity is nothing new to
Queens, with many of the old
mainstays of German, Dutch,
Catholic and Protestant

In recent years, we’ve seen the
number of cultures in our borough
expand to include Chinese,
Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Greeks,
and more. The influx of cultures
can be seen in many ways.
Throughout the years, various
local cultural institutions
and artists have contributed
to the creation of original
ethnic art that can be found
throughout Queens.
While there are several
theatres for our residents to check
out, we have one foreign language

Theatre, which is the only
bilingual Hispanic theatre in
Queens and serves as the home
of Spanish and Latin American
culture with productions, plays,
musicals and dance.
As for dining, one can find
restaurants that cater to nearly
every ethnicity anywhere in
Queens, whether it be Chinese
food, Greek food, or Spanish
cuisine.
We are proud of our plethora
