Take in an open-air concert at
the new Forest Hills Stadium
The Beatles played there. So
did the Rolling Stones, the Supremes,
Frank Sinatra, Simon
and Garfunkel and the Who.
That’d be the city’s premiere openair
concert venue, Forest Hills Stadium,
which since its renovation and
reopening in 2013 has offered a roster
of the country’s top touring acts every
summer.
This summer is no exception, with
upcoming shows from artists including
Brit-pop superstars the Arctic
Monkeys, legendary Irish vocalist
Van Morrison, Talking Heads founder
David Byrne, and long-running
jazz-funk favorites Jamiroquai.
You’ll find some improvements at
the stadium this summer – most notably
the addition of indoor plumbing,
where previously there were only
portable toilets. That includes gender
neutral bathrooms, a first for the facility.
The 14,000 capacity venue is a
short walk from the Forest Hills subway
station, a few stops on the R train
for LeFrak City residents. Tickets are
available at foresthillsstadium.com;
advance tickets can also be bought at
the venue on show days, as can sameday
tickets if they’re not sold out.
