John Adams girls cruise past Christopher Columbus

John Adams’ girls basketball team took
care of business against Christopher
Columbus Campus in the Bronx, securing
a 42-32 playoff victory.
Th e Lady Spartans used a stifl ing
defense and opportunistic off ense to
down Columbus. John Adams’ defense
limited COlumbus to less than 10 points
in each quarter, while the off ense did just
enough to win.
Th e Lady Spartans scored 11 points in
each of the fi rst two quarters and took a
22-16 lead into the half. While John Adams’
off ense slowed down a bit in the fi nal two
quarters, the unit still outscored Columbus
18-16 to secure the 42-32 victory.
Bethel Bwalozie scored a team-high 10
points to lead the Lady Spartans, while
Cherish Langford and Cheyenne Tocays
each scored nine. Sydney Maisonet led
Columbus with 15 points.
