POLICE BEAT
72ND PRECINCT
The 72nd Precinct serves Sunset Park,
Greenwood Heights, Windsor Terrace and
South Park Slope.
TAKE OUT: Over $8,000 was taken from an ATM
inside a Spanish restaurant near 55th Street and
Fourth Avenue, which was broken into on Monday,
April 2. According to reports, at around 10 p.m.,
an unknown crook gained access to the eatery by
breaking the left side basement door. Once inside,
the perp removed a DVR system from a lock box,
then broke the ATM machine, poured liquid vinegar
on it and stole $8,490 before leaving via the
basement door. The burglary was discovered the
next morning by a 52-year-old woman at around
8 a.m. No arrests have been made.
DRUG BUST: Two men were arrested for possession
of a controlled substance inside a bar near
39th Street and Fourth Avenue on Tuesday, April
3. Reports say that at around 2:50 a.m. officers
caught the alleged suspects, one 32, the other 35,
with vials of Ketamine hidden under their feet.
Cops recovered over 1,000 milligrams of the
substance.
BROKEN WINDOWS: An unknown perp shattered
the windows of a 2015 BMW near East Second
Street and Greenwood Avenue on Monday
April 2. According to reports, the car's owner,
a 27-year-old man, parked it at around 1 a.m. He
discovered the damage when he returned to the
vehicle. No arrests have been made.

An employee of a Bay Ridge
smoke shop was shot during a robbery
inside the store late Wednesday
evening.
Authorities say that at around
11:56 p.m., the suspect, described
as a man wearing a scarf around
his face, entered the shop near the
corner of 72nd Street and Fifth
Avenue and fired several shots,
one striking the victim, a male
employee, in the torso. The perp
then fled the scene, having stolen
an undetermined amount of cash.
The victim was rushed to NYU
Langone Hospital-Brooklyn where
he is listed in stable condition.
Police say the investigation is
ongoing.
According to Councilmember
Justin Brannan, “The NYPD is looking
for a white male, 5’9″, stocky
build wearing khaki pants, beige
shirt, dark scarf, sunglasses and
dark ski hat,” he said.
“I was up all night
working with the
NYPD 68 Precinct on
this. The good news is
this was an isolated incident
and there is no
cause for alarm. The
bad news is we’ve got
a shopkeeper in the
hospital so please say
a prayer and keep him
in your thoughts.”

62ND PRECINCT
The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath
Beach and Gravesend.
DEVIOUS DELIVERY: A 20-year-old man was robbed
by two men near Bay 38th Street and Benson Avenue
on April 1 while delivering Chinese food. Reports say
that around at around 8:30 p.m., as he was making the
delivery, the two perps jumped out of a white Nissan
and stole his cellphone and $300 before fleeing the
scene. No arrests have been made.
GIVE HIM AN INCH... A 52-year-old man was arrested
on assault charges for attacking a 45-year-old male
traffic agent during a parking dispute near 16th Avenue
and 63rd Street on Wednesday, April 4. Allegedly, at
around 4 p.m., the victim was writing a summons for
an alternate side parking violation when the suspect,
who was inside the vehicle, began driving the vehicle.
Cops say the traffic agent warned the suspect that if
he continued to drive, the car would run over his foot.
The perp allegedly continued to drive, running over
the victim’s foot. The victim was taken to Maimonides
Medical Center.
SURPRISE VISIT: A 37-year-old man was arrested for
strangling his 36-year-old girlfriend in an apartment at
Kings Highway and West Ninth Street on Saturday,
April 7. At around 12:15 a.m., the man allegedly entered
the victim’s apartment via the second floor window
while she was sleeping. According to the police, when
she woke up, the two started arguing. The suspect then
allegedly put his hands around her neck and strangled
her, resulting in her losing consciousness.
68TH PRECINCT
The 68th Precinct serves Bay Ridge,
Dyker Heights and Fort Hamilton.
BITER: A man was arrested by cops on assault
charges on Saturday, April 7 for throwing a
man to the ground and biting him on 93rd
Street between Third and Fourth Avenues.
According to reports, the attack followed a
verbal dispute between the two men at around
11:15 p.m. The victim suffered lacerations.
SAY CHEESE: A motorcycle belonging
parked on Gatling Place between 90th and
92nd Streets was stolen on Wednesday,
April 4. Reports claim that the victim, a
29-year-old man, parked the motorcycle in
the side driveway of his house, attaching it
to a railing with a bike chain. At around 5:13
a.m., surveillance cameras caught two men
cutting the bike chain. At around 5:38 a.m.
they walked away with the ride heading toward
the lower numbered streets. No arrests
have been made.
UNDELIVERED: A check that had been deposited
inside a mailbox near Fourth Avenue and
77th Street on Saturday, March 3 was stolen
and cashed by an unknown perp on Monday,
March 26. On Wednesday, April 4, the person
who wrote the check learned that the check
had never been received by its intended recipient
and had been cashed by the crook. No
arrests have been made.
