Says Burghardt, “Psychologists have long known that the profound legacy of loss and suffering experienced by Holocaust survivors deeply affects their children. Now biologists are saying that genetics can play an even larger role in transmitting the trauma to the next generation. I will describe the science behind these claims and explain how this genetic legacy can have far reaching consequences for the children of survivors and their own offspring.” • August (TBD)—Tenth Anniversary Luncheon Celebration of Migdal Chapter’s Rebirth. Details to be announced. • September 14, 11 a.m.–2 p.m.—Migdal Book and Author Brunch. Our guest will be Brenda Janowitz, author of “The Dinner Party” and “The Lonely Hearts Club.” Additional information about these programs will be available in later editions of this newspaper, on the bulletin boards of each building, etc. “The Two-Family House will make you question and make you angry—but mainly it will make you rethink your own family history, until you are left wondering how much do you know about your own past?” — The Jewish Book Council TOWERS Restaurant at North Shore Towers 27248 Grand Central Pkwy, Floral Park, NY 11005 272-40 Grand Central Pkwy.
