Safety and Noise Abatement Act of 1979, as amended, notice is hereby given that on May 5,
2017, the Federal Aviation Administration has completed its evaluation of, and has formally

Boston man escapes from
Fresh Meadows building
after kidnappers hold
him for a gambling debt
Queens detectives are still investigating
a case seemingly ripped out of a
Hollywood movie script.
A 27-year-old man from Boston
escaped his captors and fl agged down
police aft er he was kidnapped and held
in Fresh Meadows by men who wanted
a gambling debt that he owed last
Th ursday, June 15.
Th e New York Daily News fi rst reported
that the kidnappers grabbed the man
in Boston and brought him to Queens
for owing a $50,000 gambling debt.
According to the victim, the suspects
threatened to cut off his fi ngers if he
didn’t pay the money that he owed.
Th e victim reportedly managed to get
away from the suspects at 10:15 a.m. on
June 15 by jumping out of second-story
window of the Fresh Meadows building.
Aft er fl eeing the building, the victim stole
a mint green 2007 Toyota Yaris on 67th
Avenue and looked for police.
Two miles east of the location, the victim
fl agged down police offi cers that were
near the Long Island Expressway and
Bell Boulevard in Flushing and told them
about his scary ordeal.
Th e victim was transported to Queens
Hospital. Th e owner of the stolen vehicle,
aft er hearing about the victim’s plight, is
unlikely to press charges.
Th is case is being investigated by the
NYPD and the FBI.

Bandit steals tip jar
from LIC bagel store,
then punches the
employee who tries
to stop him: cops
Cops are looking for a man who walked
into a Long Island City bagel shop last
month, took their tip jar and assaulted the
employee who tried to stop him.
According to police, at 3:15 p.m. on
Sunday, May 14, an unknown man
entered the LIC Bagel Store, located 31-08
36th Ave., and took the tip jar off of the
counter.
When the employee tried to stop him,
the suspect punched the employee in the
face and fl ed the location with the jar,
which had an undetermined amount of
cash..
Th e suspect is described as a black male
with hazel eyes, black hair, aged 35-yearsold,
standing 6 feet, 2 inches tall and
weighing 220 pounds. He was last seen
wearing black sneakers, and a blue jacket.

Man takes a deadly
fall during the morning
rush at a Jackson
Heights train station
A 55-year-old man apparently took a
fatal fall from a station on the elevated 7
line in Jackson Heights to the pavement
below during the Tuesday morning rush
hour, law enforcement sources said.
According to police, the unidentifi
ed man leaped off the platform on the
Manhattan-bound side of the 82nd Street
station on the 7 line, above Roosevelt
Avenue, at 8 a.m. on June 20.
Offi cers from the 115th Precinct and
NYPD Transit District 20 responded to
the scene aft er receiving a 911 call about
a man jumping off the platform. Th ey
found his body lying near the curb at the
northeast corner of Roosevelt Avenue
and 83rd Street.
EMS units also responded and pronounced
the man dead at the location.
His body was transported to the Offi ce
of the Chief Medical Examiner for an
autopsy.
Th e investigation is ongoing.

Cops arrest Astoria resident accused of shooting
a 50-year-old man on a Flushing street
An Astoria man has been arrested
and charged in connection to a shooting
on a Flushing street last summer,
police said.
Robert Sasso, 35, was arrested and
charged on Tuesday with murder and
criminal possession of a weapon in
connection to a fatal shooting on July
27 that left 50-year-old victim Richard
Brown, a Long Island resident, dead.
According to law enforcement sources,
the perpetrator approached Brown
in the vicinity of 35th Avenue and
Farrington Street and engaged him in
conversation at around 11:58 p.m. on
July 27.
When the victim looked to the ground
momentarily, police said, the perpetrator
pulled out a gun, shot Brown one
time in the head and fl ed the scene on
a motorcycle.
Brown was rushed to NewYork-
Presbyterian/Queens hospital, where he
was pronounced dead.
