Using his head
Police arrested a man who allegedly
head-butted a police offi cer as
he was putting him in a squad car
on Bath Avenue on April 11.
The alleged incident occurred
between 17th Avenue and Bay 16th
Street at around 7:30 p.m., according
to the report, which added that
the alleged heat-butt caused redness
and pain to the police offi cer on
duty — but did not specify why the
cop was putting the man in the car.
Scissor hands
A lout stole $20 from a man at
the Bay Parkway train station on
April 11.
The incident occurred at the
train station near 86th Street at
around 9:45 a.m., when the scoundrel
— who police said was holding
a pair of scissors — followed the
man off an elevator at the station
to a Manhattan-bound D train and
demanded the cash.

A nogoodnik swindled a Bay Parkway
woman out of $1,500 on April 11
by claiming she won cash and that
she had to send money via Google
Play gift cards to claim her prize.
The woman, who lives between
68th Street and Bay Ridge Avenue,
told police she received the call from
a cellphone at around 6 p.m.
Phone scam
A scammer swindled an 82nd
Street woman out of more than
$2,500 on April 12 by claiming that
she owed $3,000 for property that
someone allegedly purchased under
her name.
The woman, who lives between
18th and 19th avenues, told police
that she received the call from a
cellphone at around 11 a.m., and
that the caller threatened to arrest
her if she didn’t pay up.
The victim sent the lout the
money via Google Play cards, police
reported.
Late-night attack
Police arrested a woman who
they say struck another woman
with a hard object multiple times on
her head and face on Avenue O on
April 12.
Police say the victim was near
W. Seventh Street at around 11:30
p.m., when the woman got out of her
husband’s car and attacked the victim,
who received treatment for her
wounds at Coney Island Hospital.
Car steal
A thief stole a car from a New
Utrecht Avenue parking lot at
some point between April 12 and
14, police said.
The theft occurred at the lot
between 66th and 67th streets at
some point after 1 a.m. on April 12,
according to the report.
Purse-snatcher
A thief stole $2,300 from a woman’s
purse on 71st Street on April 13.
The theft occurred between
18th and 19th avenues at around 11
a.m., according to the report, which
added that the perp fl ed the scene on
foot following the steal.

Shooter
A lout shot a man on Mermaid
Avenue on April 9.
The victim was walking between
COURIER L 8 IFE, APRIL 19–25, 2019 G
W. 24th and W. 25th streets shortly before
12:35 p.m. when he heard two loud
bangs, before falling to the ground. The
20-year-old victim was shot one time in
the lower back, according to cops.
Emergency medical personnel
took the victim to Lutheran Hospital
for treatment of non-life threatening
injuries, police reported.
Stillwell stabber
A bruiser stabbed a woman on
Stillwell Avenue on April 9.
Cops say the 22-year-old victim
got into a verbal altercation with
the perp between Harway Avenue
and Bay 50th Street, before the fi ght
turned physical, shortly before 9
a.m. The perp then stabbed the victim
in the right side of her abdomen,
according to authorities.
Home invasion
Two intruders broke into a W.
29th Street home on April 8 and
assaulted a man.
The baddies knocked on the
door of the home between Mermaid
and Surf avenues at approximately
7 p.m., looking for the victim’s
brother, police reported.
When the victim answered the door,
the two men punched him in the face
and entered the home, cops said, adding
that the invaders then destroyed
a television, computer, and several
pieces of furniture, before fl eeing.
Tablet thief
A pickpocket stole a tablet computer
from a victim’s backpack on
Mermaid Avenue on April 8.
Police said the victim was between
W. 22nd and W. 23rd streets
shortly before 4 p.m. and felt a tugging
on the bag. The victim turned
around, and caught the perp unzipping
the bag and removing the
tablet, police said.
The thief then said, “don’t tell
anyone or I’ll kill you,” and ran off,
according to cops.

Smash and grab
Two baddies robbed a store and
assaulted the owner on 86th Street
on April 8.
The two men entered the store between
W. Eighth and W. Ninth streets
at approximately 2:30 p.m., before
grabbing several items and fl eeing,
police reported. The store owner then
confronted the two baddies outside, at
which point they hit him with a glass
bottle and kicked him repeatedly, before
running off toward Avenue W,
according to cops.
The victim was transported to
Coney Island hospital for treatment,
police said.
Cellphone bandit
A thief stole a phone from an Avenue
U electronics store on April 9
and threatened an employee.
Police say the sneak entered
the store, between McDonald Avenue
and West Street, shortly after
3 p.m., and slipped a cellphone into
his pocket. When a store employee
confronted the perp, he brandished
a knife and fl ed the store, toward
Lake Street, cops said.
Highway robbery
A mugger assaulted a woman
and stole her cellphone on Kings
Highway on April 9.
The woman was between E. 12th
and E. 13th streets shortly before
midnight, when the perp came up
behind her, pulled her hair, and
grabbed the phone, before fl eeing
towards Coney Island Avenue, said
