A man is in critical condition after a
79-year-old driver struck him in Brighton
Beach on Tuesday night, according
to authorities.
The pedestrian was crossing Neptune
Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk
near E. 12th Street, shortly after
11 p.m., when the SUV struck him,
cops said.
Police responded to the incident
and found the victim lying in the street
with severe head trauma.
Emergency medical personnel took
the man to NYU Langone Hospital
—Brooklyn shortly before midnight.
The driver remained on the scene
until police arrived. No charges have
been fi led, and the investigation is ongoing,
according to authorities.
