MUSIC, BROOKLYN CHAMThe
World Awaits – so get out
there and see it, says Camille
Sperrazza, owner of the travel
agency, The World Awaits Travel
LLC.
Camille plans worldwide
trips and cruises for individuals
and groups - and the former educator
makes sure she does her
homework.
She has toured 96 countries,
all seven continents, and has
sailed on more than 100 cruises.
Her adventures include climbing
the Machu Picchu; crawling
through the Egyptian pyramids;
and in 2016 -- the year President
Obama and Chinese President
Xi Jinping promoted tourism between
the two countries -- she led
a procession of U.S. delegates in
a welcoming ceremony along the
Great Wall of Xi’an.
Her lifelong dream of seeing
Antarctica materialized a year
later when she journeyed to The
White Continent. Less than one
percent of the earth’s population
will ever see it, much less
walk on it -- but this Brooklynite
trekked across six different areas,
the adventure of a lifetime.
Camille feels her background
in education contributes
to her agency’s success. “Teaching
is about inspiring people,
and so is the travel business,”
she says. “Both offer guidance,
encouragement, and knowledge
so people feel secure about the
unknown.”
Plus nothing beats advice
that comes from someone who is
passionate about her subject, and
has firsthand knowledge of it.
Not everyone wants to travel
far, so Camille plans plenty of
trips to destinations that are
close to home, too. Want the inside
scoop on Norwegian cruises
that sail weekly from New York?
The World Awaits Travel is
happy to assist, and because the
agency is a member of a large
consortium, on some sailings, it
can provide group rates and extra
perks on top of the amenities
offered by the cruise lines.
For nearly two decades, she’s
cruised with a group to the Caribbean,
escaping the New York
winter for a week. “I call it our
annual ‘Shovel Sand Instead of
Snow,’ cruise,” she says. It’s one
reason why many of her clients
have become friends, and why
the business is comprised of repeat
passengers and referrals.
It makes sense that this educator
believes in continued education,
so Camille visits the Caribbean
frequently, touring new
all-inclusive properties, meeting
hotel managers, and making
personal connections. She almost
always books her clients at
resorts she has seen.
Many brides are opting for
destination weddings, as did
Camille’s daughter, Bernadette,
who assists with the business.
For her wedding, The World
Awaits Travel made arrangements
with its preferred tour
operator, Vacation Express, to
bring more than 90 guests to
Cancun for a celebration at the
Hyatt Ziva that lasted for days.
What a blast.
Planning destination weddings
is something the agency
has been doing for years, as Camille
is a WOW (Weddings on
the Water) specialist for Hard
Rock all-inclusive resorts. Busy
brides appreciate that guests
can rely on The World Awaits
Travel to make travel plans as it
gives them more time to focus on
the wedding.
Always the educator, Camille
is happy to answer questions,
and volunteers her time to serve
on the Boards of professional
travel organizations.
She taught journalism, and
her numerous articles on diverse
subjects have appeared in countless
publications (including this
newspaper for more than two decades),
so it’s not surprising that
Camille writes about her travels,
too. Take a look at the “destination
articles” page of her
website, www.TheWorldAwaitsTravel.
com.
Get inspired by reading her
adventures. Then, call her to
book your own.
