A con artist stole $1,700 from a
Kings Highway resident on April 2.
The liar called the victim, posing
as a Social Security offi ce offi
cial, and demanded that the victim
send money in the form of gift
cards or they would be arrested.
The victim purchased 15 gift cards
at three locations between 7 p.m.
and 9:30 p.m., and texted the information
to the fraud’s phone number,
according to cops.
Finder’s keepers
An opportune thief used a lost
credit card to make a $179 purchase
at an Avenue U shopping mall on
April 3.
The victim told police he lost his
wallet while shopping at the mall
between E. 55th Street and Flatbush
Avenue. The punk picked up
the wallet, which also contained a
driver’s licence and cash, and used
the card at a clothing store at 7 p.m.,
said cops.
Shop grifters
Police arrested several suspects
accused of shoplifting at an Avenue
U shopping center in three separate
incidents this week. Here’s the
rundown:
• Offi cers arrested two suspects
at the mall between E. 55th Street
and Flatbush Avenue on April 6 for
attempting to steal $1,222 from a
clothing store shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Store security stopped the pair, and
cops arrived and arrested them at
5:42 p.m., according to authorities.
• Cops cuffed a 28-year-old woman
who they say tried to walk off with
an ill-gotten $1,864 worth of clothes,
jewelry, and makeup on April 2
at approximately 12:30 p.m. Authorities
tracked down the woman
and arrested her later that day,
according to the police report.
• Police arrested a 45-year-old
woman for placing $1,903 worth of
clothes in her bag and attempting
to fl ee on April 6 at 11:15 p.m. Cops
arrested her at 11:37 p.m., according
to police.

Liquor store louse
Two thieves robbed a man at gunpoint
oustide a liquor store on the
Riegelmann Boardwalk on April 1.
One of the baddies pointed a
black handgun at the victim and demanded
his money as he was leaving
the store near Brighton Fourth
Street at approximately 5 p.m.,
police reported. The other perp
grabbed the victim’s wallet before
the two of them fl ed down the beach
toward Ocean Parkway, according
to cops.
Scissor stabber
A dirtbag stabbed a woman
with scissors on W. 32nd Street on
April 2.
The victim told police she began
arguing with the man in the lobby
of an apartment complex between
Neptune and Mermaid avenues
when the bruiser used a pair of
scissors to stab her in her left forearm,
before fl eeing the scene at approximately
10 p.m., according to
authorities.
Banking baddie
A fraudster stole $2,634 from the
bank account of a Brighton 12th
Street man on April 4.
The 36-year-old victim, who
never lost possession of his credit
card, discovered the unknown
withdrawal while checking his
mobile banking information at his
home between Brighton Beach and
Ocean View Avenue, and reported
the theft to police around midnight,
cops said.
Storage stealers
Two charlatans stole $1,036 from
a customer at a self-storage business
on W. 21st Street on April 5.
The two fraudsters, who worked
for the company, located between
Neptune and Mermaid avenues,
charged the victim more than necessary
around noon by providing a
fake receipt, and took the money for
themselves, offi cers reported.

Flake faker
A lout used fake money and a
gun to steal a phone from a man on
Bedford Avenue on April 3.
The victim told police he agreed
to meet up and sell the phone to
the perp for $1,250 near Voorhies
Avenue at 11 p.m., but when they
made the exchange, the victim realized
the money was fake. The
perp took off down Bedford Avenue,
and punched the victim in the face
during an ensuing chase, police
reported.
The perp then threatened the
victim with a gun, and ran off on
foot towards Emmons Avenue,

according to cops.
Food cart assault
Three punks assaulted a food
vendor on Avenue X during a failed
robbery on April 7.
The victim told cops he was in
his mobile food cart between W. Second
and W. Third streets at 3 p.m.
when the perps approached. One of
them took out a knife, punched the
victim in the head, and demanded
cash, while the other two acted as
lookouts, according to authorities.
The victim refused to hand over
the money, and the three baddies
ran away, said cops.
Gold fi lcher
A burglar stole $12,000 worth of
property from an Avenue R home on
March 27.
The looter broke into the home
while the owners were out between
E. 13th and E. 14th streets between
6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and stole gold and
jewelry, cops said.
Bedroom burglar
A home invader stole $10,000 in
jewelry from an Avenue X home
between March 28 and April 3.
The victim noticed the missing
property from the bedroom of his
house between E. 26th Street and
Bedford Avenue on April 4, and
subsequent investigation showed
the bedroom window had been
tampered with, police reported.
Grave robbery
A prowler broke into a Gravesend
Neck Road store and stole $3,030
worth of property on April 5.
When an employee arrived in the
morning to open the store between
E. 14th and E. 15th streets, he discovered
cash and two laptops had
been stolen, he told police.
Security footage shows the perp
entering the store at 3 a.m. and scavenging
for three minutes, before
fl eeing on foot toward Ocean Avenue,

That’s gotta hurt
A miscreant stabbed a man in
the chest on 65th Street on April 6,
police said.
The victim told police he was between
W. Fifth and W. Sixth streets
at around 10:35 p.m. when he tried
to intervene in a verbal dispute between
the perp and another man, according
to the report, which added
that the lout fl ed in an unknown
direction. Emergency medical personnel
transported the man to
NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn,
police said.
Wardrobe haul
Police arrested a woman who allegedly
stole more than $1,900 worth
of clothes from a Bay Parkway store
on April 1.
The alleged theft occurred from
the store near Shore Parkway at
around 1:40 p.m., police said.
Computer whiz
A swindler scammed a W. 13th
Street woman out of $4,300 at some
point between April 1 through 6
by claiming she had a virus in her
computer and she needed to buy gift
cards to pay to remove them.
The scammer called the woman,
who lives between Avenue P and
Kings Highway, at around 10 am
on April 1, according to the report,
which added that the perp told the
woman she needed to buy Google
Play cards to pay for the alleged virus

Moving van
A thief looted a man’s van he
parked on 50th Street sometime
after March 27, taking tools and
electronics.
The victim told police he left his
vehicle between Third and Fourth
avenues at 10 p.m., and returned
fi ve days later to fi nd a small fortune
worth of equipment had been
stolen, including a pricey laptop.
Mr. Knife Guy
A knifeman cut his way out of a
Hamilton Avenue hardware store
after nabbing a drill on April 2.
An employee told police he spotted
the crook trying to slink out of
the store near 19th Street with the
stolen drill at 6:45 p.m., and the
fi end pulled out a knife when he
confronted him, swinging it at the
worker before fl eeing out the door.
Bad luck
Three crooks robbed a man
inside an illegal 58th Street
gambling den on April 6, taking
$9,500 in jewelry and cash.
The victim told police the robbers
forced him into the off-the-books casino
between Seventh and Eighth
avenues at 11 p.m., where they accused
them of owing a whopping
$120,000 in gambling debts from
previous visits to the illicit house of
chance, before nabbing his stuff as
a down payment on his unpaid bills.
