Veteran hard-hitting opener Chris
Gayle has been recalled to the West
Indies One-Day International (ODI)
14-man squad for the first time in
seven months for the first two games
of the five-match series against England
later this month.
Gayle, will be joined by his opening
partner Evin Lewis, following
a similar length of absence, while
uncapped attacking left-hander
Nicholas Pooran is set to make his
debut in the 50 overs format.
Off-spinner Ashly Nurse is the
fourth change, returning after recovering
from injury.
Chanderpaul Hemraj, who scored
12 runs in two innings against
Bangladesh, has been dropped along
with fellow batsmen Kieran Powell
and Sunil Ambris, as well as Carlos
Brathwaite.

moved up in the latest ICC Test rankings
released recently.
Holder, who recently became the
top-ranked all-rounder in the world,
jumped four spots in the bowlers rankings
this time around and now lies on a
career-best sixth place.

West Indies fast bowler Shannon
Gabriel has been banned slapped with
a four-match One-Day International
(ODI), by cricket’s governing body, the
International Cricket Council (ICC),
after being found guilty of player
abuse.
Gabriel, 30, was also hit with a 75
percent fine and three demerit points
for the incident, which took place during
England’s second innings on day
three of the third and final Test in St.
Lucia last week.
He was found guilty of breaching
article 2.13 of the ICC Code of Conduct
for Players and Player Support Personnel,
which relates to “personal abuse
of a Player, Player Support Personnel,
Umpire or Match Referee, during an
