committing to donate $100 to the ALS Association Greater New York Chapter.

oral exams from students volunteering in the NYU Dental Van, which offered
free screenings outside Brooklyn Borough Hall.

Borough President Adams announced Meatless Mondays, a new program that
will provide 15 Brooklyn schools with healthy, all-vegetarian breakfast and
lunch menus every Monday, alongside his initiative partners Mayor Bill de
Blasio and New York City Department of Education (DOE) Chancellor Carmen
Fariña, as well as AFSCME Local 372 President Shaun Francois; the effort,
building off of Borough President Adams’ plant-based health advocacy, was
launched at PS 1 The Bergen in Sunset Park.

Borough President Adams commemorated Sickle Cell Awareness Month at
Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brownsville with an inspirational
reading from 12-year-old Parker Todd, a local author who wrote
“The Adventures of the Sickler” in the face of his own battle with the disease.
