Bridie was born in The Bronx in 1931. She was the youngest of five, being predeceased by her sister,Elizabeth (Sissy) and her brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Phil. Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids - pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa, adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in the refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats) already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever. Bridie was born in The Bronx in 1931. She was the youngest of five, being predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Sissy) and her brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Phil. Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids - pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa, adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats) already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever. She had one sister Catherine and four brothers, John, Michael, Bill and Peter. Marie Teresa lived in her house in Bay Ridge her whole life and was a devout attendee of St. Ephrem Catholic Church. Marie Teresa had a very successful career as a manager at New York Telephone in downtown Brooklyn which she commuted to by subway each day. She was an incredible employee and was known to never miss a day - even in a snowstorm. Marie Teresa loved everything about the Jersey Shore and summered there from when she was in her 20s. She loved watching her grand nephews and nieces swim in her pool, enjoying the ocean view, and sitting in the sand under her umbrella. Marie Teresa was devoted to her eight nieces and nephews and is survived by numerous grand nieces and nephews including Jack, Lila, Emma, Mason and Matthew. She loved spending time with all of them and was devoted to buying the best gifts, attending recitals and sports events and having fun with little ones. Marie passed away on January 1, 2017. Alfred continued his trade as a finish carpenter working in the Waldorf Astoria and the original World Trade Center. He also traveled the country for his profession. Alfred brought his profession to his home where he created many beautiful cabinets, frames, miniature churches and a lighthouse which stands on 74th Street. In his spare time, Alfred loved to go bowling. He also loved his pool chair. After work he would come home and enjoy his dinner and cold beer while sitting in his pool chair.He enjoyed golf. He spent many week days with his buddies at the Dyker Golf Course. Alfred and Hilda had two children, Waltraud Quinlan (Ray) and Alfred (Amber). Bridie was born in The Bronx in 1931. She was the youngest of five, being predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Sissy) and her brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Phil. Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids - pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa, adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in the refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats) already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever. She was the youngest of five, being predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Sissy) and her brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Phil. Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids - pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa, adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in the refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats) already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever. Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids - pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa, adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in the refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats)already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever. Bridie was born in The Bronx in 1931. She was the youngest of five, being predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Sissy) and her brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Phil.Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids - pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa, adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in the refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats) already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever. Bridie was born in The Bronx in 1931.She was the youngest of five, being predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Sissy) and her brothers, Martin, Lawrence and Phil. Growing up in Mott Haven, Bridie learned to be tough and marched to the beat of her own drummer and was unapologetic which drove a lot of people crazy, but it often worked in her favor! She worked hard her whole life, having enjoyed careers at General Electric, E.F. Hutton and finally the New York City Police Department from which she retired in 1999. She raised her kids -pretty much on her own, in Brooklyn, NY. Having dropped out of high school to take care of her own ill mother, Bridie was determined to get her high school diploma before her youngest daughter, Tara, graduated from high school, and she succeeded!! Bridie loved animals and brought a lot of them home. She passed that love along to her children – all of whom since have had their own brood of pets as adults. That is probably one of her greatest legacies – her love and care for animals which we inherited. In fact, shortly before mom died, her oldest daughter, Theresa,adopted her cats, Madison and Cleo into her own home, so that mom wouldn’t have the burden of taking care of pets as her health declined. And just before she died, mom asked that the birds that visit her house from time to time be fed with the rice she had left in the refrigerator. Bridie’s daughters, nieces and nephews (and cats) already miss her so very much. We’ll remember her as a “firecracker,” and we hope we have that spark in us, because that’s one of the ways in which we can carry her within our hearts forever.
