The tournament — dubbed Darts4Autism — will kick off at 8 p.m. at Pat’s Sports Bar, located at 73-13 Metropolitan Ave. Th ere will be a $20 entrance fee, with the winner taking home 50 percent of the entry fee money. It will be a double-elimination style tournament with straight darts in, double out format. Th e champion and runner up will both receive trophies. Th ere will also be a 50/50 raffl e and a bar raffl e. Th e Play4Autism foundation works to increase public awareness, and to foster acceptance of Autism. Th ey also improve the quality of life for children with Autism with their programs like the Kidz into Action Programs, which introduce children on the Autism Spectrum to sports, music and arts and craft s. Queens sprinter wins at 2017 Armory Track Invitational BY: JOSEPH SWIFT Photos by Joseph Swift @JSwiftSports On Saturday, Feb. 4, the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in Washington Heights hosted the Armory Track Invitational, one of the Armory’s most prestigious meets. Under one roof, the meet featured a combination of U.S. Olympians, international pros, collegians, and some of the nation’s best high schoolers. Two-time 2012 Olympic bronze medalist, sprinter Lalonde Gordon of Queens, began his 2017 indoor track season with blazing success, winning the Councilman Mark Levine Men’s 300 meters in 32.37, which makes that the seventh-fastest time in history. Not far behind Gordon, taking second was high school sensation , sophomore Tyrese Cooper of Miami Gardens Express, clocking in at 32.87 to take second and breaking the world junior record.
