Japanese restaurant chain
Tamashii set to open its
doors in Forest Hills soon

Forest Hills will be getting a new addition
to its diverse lineup of stellar restaurants.
Japanese restaurant chain Tamashii
will be opening their third location,
Tamashii Red, on 71-34 Austin St. in
Forest Hills.
While the restaurant secured a 15-year
lease for the 2,900-square-foot facility
through Eastern Consolidated’s retail
leasing division, an opening date has yet
to be determined.
“Th is stretch of Austin Street is a retailers
dream, surrounded by a dense residential
area with fi nancial demographics
similar to the Upper West Side of
Manhattan,” said Harris Bulow, senior
director of Eastern Consolidated.
Tamashii Red will be the newest addition
to the restaurant lineup in the shopping
center, which includes Shake Shack,
Bareburger, 5 Burro, Dirty Pierre’s and
Cheese of the World, among other
options.
Along with Tamashii Red, the Tamashii
brand also operates Tamashii Ramen
in Astoria and Tamashii Blue in Long
Island City. Th ey are known for their
assortment of specialty ramen dishes.
“Th e area also is a transportation hub
with four subway lines a block away
on Queens Boulevard, a Long Island
Railroad station around the corner, and
buses servicing Kew Garden Hills and
Middle Village. Additionally, concert
hall Forest Hills Stadium is nearby.”
