McDonald’s Commemorates
Guardian Angels’s 40th Year
McDonald’s honored the Guardian Angels for 40 years of keeping communities safe on
Sunday, February 10 at 2505 Southern Boulevard. Four decades ago on February 13,
thirteen young men made their start working at a McDonald’s on East Fordham Road.
Due to the driving force, vision and fervent commitment of McDonald’s night manager
Curtis Sliwa, the co-workers were united to form the ‘Rock Brigade.’ The 13 grew to
thousands and were renamed the Guardian Angels whose mission is to empower others
to take responsibility and build self-esteem and confi dence.
