West Indies captain Jason Holder
said there is no shame despite the
Twenty20 whitewash the team got
from England in the recently concluded
three-match series.
He noted that while West Indies’
batting was a huge disappointment
in the Twenty20 series, it could not be
overshadowed by the massive strides
made by the regional team during
the overall tour against England.

with English county Northamptonshire
for several matches of the upcoming
summer campaign, the east Midlands
club announced last week.

Hero CPL rakes in
US$25M in Guyana

The Hero Caribbean Premier League
(CPL) is claiming that the 2018 edition,
which took place between Aug. 8 and
Sept. 16, raked in US$25,515,816 in
Guyana — an 80 percent increase on
the 2017 figure.
CPL, said in a recent press release,
the figure was calculated using organizer
spend, visitor spend and media value,
which was collated for CPL by worldrenowned
researchers, SMG Insight.
In addition to that economic impact
figure, the Hero CPL created 486 jobs
in Guyana. Also the tournament filled
7,654 hotel rooms during the event
with even more focus on the country
