Born in Italy, Angelina had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Old Bridge 4 years ago. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening, & her family. Angelina was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Leonardelli; and 6 siblings. She is survived by her daughters: Gabriella DeSantis, Christina & Carl Valvassori, Joanne & Michael Serra, Patricia Leonardelli, and Julie & Gerard Carita; her son, Elmut & Linda Leonardelli; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 6 siblings. A Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Our Lady of Angels Church, 7320 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11209. Interment followed at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Matthew J. Hoey, who retired as an advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1976, has died at age 99. After an early career in Wall Street, where he started as a runner for his father's brokerage firm, M.J. Hoey & Co., Mr. Hoey joined the Federal Reserve Bank during the Second World War. Appointed an officer in 1968, he was given responsibility for the Fed's Government Bond Department and gained prominence in the campaign to eliminate Physical Government Securities in favor of Computer-based "Book-Entries." Working closely with U.S. Treasury and the Major Banks and Securities Dealers, Mr. Hoey helped to implement the Electronic Book-Entry Program, which led to full automation of Government Securities Clearance Operations and greatly assisted the financing of the U.S. Public Debt. Following his early retirement from the Federal Reserve Bank in 1976, Mr. Hoey continued his work in the same field as consulant to several New York City Banks and Securities Broker/Dealers. He also testified as an expert in a number of law suits involving Government Securities Operations and authored numerous papers on that subject. Mr. Hoey was a life-long member of the Sons of the Revolution, a Patriotic Society. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Hoey McDonnell and son-in-law Peter McDonnell and a sister, Jo Ann Trani of Brooklyn. Visitation was held Wednesday at McLAUGHLIN FUNERAL HOME, Third Avenue and 97th Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Brooklyn, N.Y.
