WWW.QNS.COM RIDGEWOOD TIMES APRIL 27, 2017 47 SPORTS BWG teams light up Juniper Valley Park with impressive wins BY ANTHONY GIUDICE [email protected] @A_GIUDICEREPORT Several Blau Weiss Gottschee (BWG) teams hit the pitch at Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village on Sunday, April 23, to compete in a couple different leagues. The busy day for BWG started off with the boys BWG 2006 and 2007 teams playing in the 7v7 New York City Football Club (NYCFC) League. Both teams played against Manhattan Soccer Club. The BWG 2007 Blue team was victorious 1-0, while the White team lost 4-6. The BWG 2006 teams were more successful, as the Blue team won 5-1, and the White team won 4-3. The BWG 2005 teams played 9v9 games against Cedar Starts of Staten Island in the NYCFC League, and the Blue team came out on top 6-2, while the White team was victorious 7-3. The group of Sunday games concluded with the BWG 99 Pre-Academy team facing off against the Baltimore Armor. In what was a physical and entertaining game, the BWG boys won 4-0, on goals scored by Morales (2), Cleere and Mendoza.
