Borough President Adams welcomed New York Islanders legends
Bryan Trottier, Mike Bossy, Bob Nystrom, and Bill Smith to Barclays
Center, as the team dropped the puck on their first regular-season
home game in Brooklyn.

yoga with students from
PS 196 Ten Eyck in East
Williamsburg as part of his
second annual celebration
of National Yoga Month in
Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Borough President Adams weighed in 22-year-old Matt Stonie at
a ceremony in the rotunda of Brooklyn Borough Hall that certified
him for competition in the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International
Hot Dog Eating Contest held in Coney Island; Stonie went
on to dethrone eight-time defending champion Joey Chestnut and
take home the mustard-yellow championship belt.

met with “Mary’s Marchers”
on the Nethermead of
Prospect Park as he
joined tens of thousands
of volunteers for Making
Strides of Brooklyn, a breast
cancer awareness walk
organized by the American
Cancer Society.
Borough President Adams learned some traditional Middle Eastern
moves from a belly dancer at his second annual International
Day of Friendship festival at Cadman Plaza Park in Downtown
Brooklyn.
Borough President Adams greeted excited festivalgoers on Graham Avenue as he
served as Grand Marshal for the Brooklyn Dominican Parade in Williamsburg.
