CURRENTS
Slick, gritty, fibrous, raw: Earthy objects highlight the elemental nature of
materials. Eden Weingart of Snack Break NYC fuses black and white clay,
leaving the outer surface unglazed and sandy-textured. Stefan Rurak of Stefan
Rurak Studio combines cast concrete, blackened steel and walnut in a credenza.
The steel is flame treated with oxides, then sealed with oil and buffed wax.
