HOME INVASION: An Asian woman living near 86th and Bay 25th Streets had her apartment broken into on Sunday, January 1 at around 6:15 p.m. According to police, the unidentified perp – described by police as a black man – pushed his way into the home and made off with about $40 in cash, credit/debit cards and a cellphone. The woman sustained injuries as a result of the invasion, according to cops, and was taken to Maimonides Medical Center. Police suspect that the location is possibly used as a prostitution business. SEAT SWIPE: A 55-year-old woman’s Prada purse was stolen out of the passenger seat of her POLICE BEAT Compiled by Jaime DeJesus & Anna Spivak car as she was loading groceries on Friday, December 30. According to police, while the woman was walking to the driver’s side of the car – parked near Benson and 24th Avenues – an unidentified perp opened the passenger side door and took the bag, containing the 55-year-old’s wallet and other belongings. SUNDAY SLASH: A 32-year-old man was assaulted with a broken beer bottle at a Kings Highway bar on Sunday, December 29 at around 2:30 a.m., cops say. According to police, the 32-yearold was slashed in the right hand with the broken bottle by a 45-year-old stranger at the bar, located near Kings Highway and West Eighth Street. The 32-yearold received medical attention at the scene and his attacker was apprehended by police. The 72nd Precinct serves Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights, Windsor Terrace and South Park Slope. JEWELRY HEIST: On Thursday, January 5 between 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., an unknown male crook broke into an apartment near Sixth Avenue and 18th Street belonging to a 29-year-old woman and came away with several pieces of jewelry. The woman claims the burglar entered the apartment, which is on the third floor of a multi-family home, through the front door, which she said had a flimsy lock. The bedroom was ransacked and the man got away with one ring and three pairs of earrings, worth over $250. NEARLY 10K GRAND THEFT: A 41-yearold man’s 2007 Ford Van was stolen by an unknown perp on Monday, January 2 at around 8:30 p.m. The victim parked the vehicle on the northeast corner of Eighth Avenue and 37th Street. When he returned to the spot the following day Photo courtesy of the NYPD at around 10 a.m., it was missing. There was no broken glass found at the spot and the victim has the keys. The perp also stole $3,000 worth of construction tools, totaling around $9,500 of stolen property. FASHION FORWARD: Several pairs of sunglasses, purses, boots, handbags, clothing, and $500 in cash were stolen from a vehicle parked on 17th Street and Seventh Avenue on Tuesday, January 3. The theft was discovered at around 5:19 p.m. by the vehicle's owner, a 30-year-old woman, who reported that over $2,000 worth of clothing and accessories had been taken. No arrest has been made. BROKEN GLASS: A 29-year-old man had his car’s front windows smashed by an unknown perp after he parked it on the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street on Saturday, January 7 at around 6 p.m. When he returned the following morning at 8 a.m., he spotted the damage. 72 PRECINCT BLOTTER COPS: WOMAN RAPED BY CAB DRIVER OVER THE WEEKEND IN SUNSET PARK Over the weekend, a woman was raped by her cab driver upon arriving at her Sunset Park residence, say cops. According to police, at around 3 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, a 29-year-old woman left a bar in the confines of the 70th Precinct and asked to be brought to her home in Sunset Park, within the confines of the 72nd Precinct. Upon arrival at her destination, police say, the driver displayed a knife before demanding money, at which time the woman complied and handed over cash. At that point, cops say, the driver proceeded to enter the backseat of the vehicle where he forcibly raped the victim before fleeing the scene to parts unknown. The driver is described by police as a Hispanic male, anywhere from 20 to 25 years old,with a medium complexion. He was driving a red minivan at the time of the incident. The woman — who was transported for evaluation to an area hospital where she was treated and released — walked to the 68th Precinct station house after the attack to report the incident. —Meaghan McGoldrick COPS SEEK FOUR PERPS IN HOME DEPOT HAMMER SWIPE The NYPD is asking for the public's assistance in identifying four individuals wanted in connection to a grand larceny that took place at a Greenwood Home Depot on Wednesday, January 4. According to police, at around 9:28 p.m., four unidentified perps walked into a Hamilton Avenue Home Depot and made off with approximately $7,000 worth of demolition hammers. Cops say the group of four fled in a green Honda. The first individual is described as female, approximately 20 to 28 years old with a light complexion and black hair. She was last seen wearing a tan jacket, black hoodie, gray sweatpants and black and blue sneakers. The second individual is described as a black male, approximately 20 to 28 years old with dark dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black pants. The third individual is described as a 20 to 28-year-old Hispanic male with a medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and black sneakers. Individual four is also described as a 20 to 28-year-old Hispanic male with a light complexion and was last seen wearing a gray hat, a black hooded jacket and gray sweatpants.
