SPOTLIGHT ON: Newest Members Of The LeFrak City Team Robert Madrid III Leasing Director, LeFrak City As leasing director for LeFrak City, Robert is responsible for all leasing activity for the property, from lease approvals and signings to assisting with new residents’ moving. For a property that encompasses 20 18-story buildings totaling 5,000 apartments, this is challenging undertaking, and Robert works to make everything run as efficiently as possible. “I strive for the ‘perfection of time management,’” Robert explained. “Everything that I do is to the best of my abilities, and I want to create operations to make the process move smoothly.” Robert has been in his role at LeFrak City since the summer of 2015 following stints as leasing manager at Kings & Queens Apartments and as a sales and rental agent in properties ranging from small cooperatives to Trump Tower. He is finding LeFrak City especially interesting. “This specific location, due to its proximity to New York City, is in high-demand, and cultures from all over the world are living here,” Robert said. He finds special satisfaction in helping new residents find their new homes. “I enjoy providing homes for people in a new chapter of their lives,” Robert explained. But he is quick to add that his involvement doesn’t end on moving day. “I have an open door policy. I want our renters to know that I’m here to answer their questions.” Pia Armand Senior Residential Property Administrator Pia joined LeFrak City in April of 2015 following several years as property manager for a 17-acre, two-story garden style apartment complex in Long Island. “I much prefer the set up here at LeFrak City,” says Pia. “We have great teams and you have such support. The resources are phenomenal.” Those resources are critical, as Pia’s primary responsibility is customer service to LeFrak City tenants and making sure that their needs are attended to properly and in a timely manner. In this capacity, she works closely with vendors, managers and superintendents to ensure that supplies come in and that LeFrak City’s Maintenance Services gets the tools they need. As such, one of Pia’s challenges is “making sure everyone is on the same page; making sure you get what you need from the vendors.” In addition to her regular duties, Pia has also been called upon to work on the special LeFrak City water conservation initiative, where her focus is to identify and isolate issues as they arise during this important project. These are challenges that Pia enjoys. “I like problem solving. When something goes wrong, I like trying to find a solution.” And when the problem is solved, “I’m proud of the work that I did and I appreciate the opportunity to help and serve the organization.” Speaking of enjoyable challenges, Pia is expecting her second child in early May. Congratulations Pia! 40 WWW.QNS.COM • LEFRAK CITY COURIER • DECEMBER 2015
