Officers from the 102nd Precinct initially responded to the playground after receiving a 911 call about shots fired there, but were directed to the hospital after learning that someone had been wounded. Members of the NYPD Crime Scene Unit were still at the shooting location on Friday morning, combing the area for evidence. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. 104TH PRECINCT RIDGEWOOD, GLENDALE, MASPETH & MIDDLE VILLAGE ROOM-FOR-RENT SCAMMER HITS MASPETH Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Maspeth man wanted in connection to a grand larceny for allegedly scamming two females in a room-for-rent scheme targeting Polish speaking individuals online last month. According to cops, the scammer, identifi ed as Karol Krzewski — who also goes by the name Filip — posted advertisements on the Polish website Bazarynka.com offering a room for rent. Krzewski’s first victim, a Polish female, responded to the ad and met with him at around noon on April 25, law enforcement agents said. The victim agreed to pay an advance for the apartment and allegedly gave Krzewski approximately $1,500. He then promised to get back in touch with her through text message or a phone call, but never did. Then, on April 26, police added, Krzewski allegedly met with his second victim, a 50-year-old female, who responded to the scammer’s fake ad. The perpetrator allegedly showed his victim the apartment and took her approximately $1,500 in advanced pay, promising to get back to her, but again, he never did. Krzewski has been described by police as a white male, 26 years old, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
