SHOPPING SURPRISE On Sunday, April 7 at 6 p.m., a 30- year-old Asian female and her 56-yearold mother were shopping on Fort Hamilton Parkway near 66th Street. When they returned to their 1999 gray Subaru Outback, they noticed that their property was missing. Thieves had made off with a purse containing a wallet, iPhone 4, credit and debit cards, a license and insurance info, belonging to the daughter, and her mom’s purse and $350 in cash. IPAD SNAG Two males entered a grocery store on Third Avenue near 86th Street on Sunday, April 7 at 10:28 a.m. while it was open for business and removed two iPads from the store counter. HOT WHEELS On Saturday, April 6 at 1:15 a.m., a 29-year-old white female left her 2004 gray BMW 5 Series running at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 86th Street as she stepped out to buy something from the food cart. While she was ordering, a male got into the driver’s seat and drove off, heading westbound on 86th Street, then southbound on Fourth Avenue. B-LOCK HEAD Someone entered an apartment on Bay Ridge Parkway near Colonial Road through its front door during the evening hours of Saturday, April 6. Burglars ransacked the residence, and took a laptop and modem worth $200, belonging to the 28-year-old white female resident. The victim admitted that she had left her door unlocked. HOT STUFF On Friday, April 5 at 11:30 p.m., someone broke into a commercial vehicle parked in a lot on Eighth Avenue near 63rd Street by forcing open the doors with an unknown object. The perp removed a GPS, radio and two fire extinguishers. 72nd Precinct Between Monday, April 1 and Monday, April 8, the 72nd Precinct received reports of one assault, two auto thefts, one incident of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and one grand larceny. The 72nd Precinct serves Sunset Park, South Park Slope, Greenwood Heights and Windsor Terrace. PUNCHY PUNK On Monday, April 1 at 9:30 a.m., a 25-year-old black Hispanic male told police that he was assaulted on the corner of Fourth Avenue and 49th Street by a Hispanic male wearing a green hoodie and blue jeans. He said the perp punched him in the nose and kicked him in the head while he was on the ground, causing bleeding and a bruise. The victim was intoxicated and uncooperative with officers. DOPEY DRIVER Police arrested a 44-year-old white Hispanic male on Saturday, April 6 at 2:40 p.m. for allegedly being unauthorized to operate a motor vehicle. The arresting officer observed the perp driving a 2006 white Ford van on 51st Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues without permission or consent of its owner. He also had a quantity of a controlled substance in public view. GUN ASTRAY On Tuesday, April 2 at 4 p.m., police responded to a radio call in regards to a lost firearm. A 51-year-old white Hispanic male told officers that he left his gun inside a restaurant bathroom on Fifth Avenue near 19th Street. After employees were questioned, a 29-year-old white Hispanic male admitted that he had the gun, which he found in the bathroom. He was arrested. CAR CAPER A 44-year-old white Hispanic female legally parked her 2004 black Nissan Xterra on 57th Street near Fourth Avenue on Thursday, April 4 at 9:30 p.m. The next morning, it was gone.
