Though still relatively new to the nabe,
Giacomo’s Wood Fired Pizza & Trattoria has
already made a name for itself far beyond its
roots in Bay Ridge. The authentic Italianstyle
restaurant debuted at the corner of 79th
Streeteet and Third Avenue in September,
2011 and has since proved that is has staying
power, be it because of its exceptional fare,
or its unbeatable customer service and wait
staff. Founded by a family that has been in the
restaurant and pizzeria businesses for over 40
years, it’s no wonder Giacomo’s knows what it’s
doing. Its menu boasts everything from classic
Italian dishes like baked ziti and gnocchi, to
parmigiana heroes and its fan-favorite wood
fired pizzas. There is a little something for
everyone (especially those looking for a true,
Italian experience). That, and its relaxed

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que may be the be-all-end-all
of barbecue in Brooklyn, but it is also a star
when it comes to its kids menu. The Brooklyn
location of the longstanding chain, which first
opened on Union Streeteet in Cobble Hill in
2013, serves up not only southern-style meats
and draft brews, but also, an extensive amount
of helpings for kids. It’s children menu – aptly
dubbed “Dino Kids” for kids 12 and under
– boasts mini takes on its signature dishes,
such as the BBQ Sliders (which come in pulled
pork, beef brisket or cheeseburger), and
