SATURDAY JANUARY 28 INDUSTRY CITY
Brooklyn Brewery
www.brooklynbrewery.com
Brooklyn Brewery preempted the whole
Brooklyn craze by about two decades. People
thought they were mad when founders Steve
Hindy and Tom Potter quit their jobs and
started selling Brooklyn-branded beer. Now
they’re the most iconic brewer in our borough
— and make damn good beer to boot! We
just wish their seasonals were available year
‘round.

Greenpoint Beer & Ale Co.
www.greenpointbeer.com
Greenpoint Beer and Ale started as a Germanstyle
brewpub in the eponymous neighborhood
far north in Brooklyn and now sells small-batch
beers of all sorts. They are constantly coming
out with new small batches with intriguing
names like "Oxblood" and "Greymatter." Their
goal is to make "beer we like to drink!" And if
their brewer likes it, you probably will, too.

small. Very small, in fact, with just one-gallon
batches. They’ve since grown their operation,
but keep that small-batch feel by off ering a
wide range of seasonal and limited release
brews of every shade and fl avor. Of course,
they’ve got year-round favorites like the
Mermaid Pilsner and Coney Island Lager.
They make a line of hard sodas, which are
wholesome, with an edge. That seems fi tting
considering their home turf.

GuS

Face it: regular soda is too sweet and seltzer
is just blah. So do the grown-up thing and

pasteurized and kosher, with no caff eine
