Two months and a few days later, he was honored by the 68th Precinct Community Council as one of its Cops of the Month. Cinolauro, commanding oficer Captain Joseph Hayward told council members during the group’s April 19 meeting at the station house, 333 65th Street, not only solved one crime but potentially prevented many others, as the alleged perp could have used the keys to steal important mail from across the 11209 zip code that covers most of Bay Ridge. “It could have gone on for months,” Hayward emphasized. Alongside Cinolauro, Police O - cer Julie Otero was also honored for getting numerous dangerous weapons o the street. Otero “rendered aid,” said Hayward and, upon noticing numerous other weapons in the apartment, called her sergeant. “They seal the apartment and get a search warrant for the apartment and recover a loaded fi rearm, gravity knives, metal knuckle knives, daggers, brass knuckles,” Hayward recounted. “The list goes on and on, BROOKLYN MEDIA GROUP/Photo by Helen Klein and these weapons would have been out on the street.
