28 FEBRUARY 24 - MARCH 2, 2017 BROOKLYN MEDIA GROUP Students giving back Photos courtesy of St. Saviour High School Ciara '19 and Briann '19 earned the Girl Scout Silver Award with Holy Name Cadette Troop 2402. Their project was creating a vegetable garden to benefit the neighbors who rely on Holy Name's Food Pantry. Their hard work inspired the dedicated volunteers of the food pantry to apply for and receive a grant so all neighbors can have fresh vegetables year round. Daniella '18 and Christina '18 are giving back to the community by volunteering at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Both applied on the hospital's website and were accepted in the winter to be volunteers throughout the hospital. They work with patients — both young and old — for two to three hours a day, twice a week.
