Visit Zazu, a five-year-old, 38-pound, flat-coat Border collie and retriever mix, who is neutered and current on vaccinations. This guy loves to be outside. An experienced dog person with a lot of outdoor time, and snuggly Community time, is Zazu's ideal owner, preferably with one to two people in the family and no children. Photo courtesy Zazu,of Jude aka Lassow Zebracake, Panela needs a loving is a good home. looking gent, reasonably well groomed Photo courtesy dressed in a lush dark Panela needs chocolate and black coat. His amber eyes light up his face. When his slightly gray muzzle opens, often his mouth turns into a lovely smile. Zazu is a little shy in his kennel, but gets leashed fairly rapidly. He is a very good walker. In the park, he marks his territory a little, and eyes the pigeons as well as the squirrels. He will sit on command, and is not at all interested in treats. He seems to like gentle caresses all over his body. He is a really very gentle and well-mannered pooch. He is an easy going character, friendly, a little shy, at least with Zanis. Please visit Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF; Twitter: zanisff; Instagram: zanisfurryfriends. * * * Nono Chibea is an adorable, shorthaired, three-year-old, 13-pound, male Chihuahua and beagle mix pooch. He is house-trained, neutered and current on vaccinations. An ideal home for him would be with an experienced dog person. He loves other dogs; a home with another pooch would be a win-win. Nono previously lived with adults and another dog. His behavior toward children is calm and relaxed. His behavior toward dogs was respectful of the dog he lived with. Nono is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, with a high activity level. He was surrendered when his mom bought him from someone in the street. The main reason for surrender is that the owner is allergic to Nono. He loves to play, especially with stuffed toys. He sleeps on a doggy bed, and goes outside and on wee-wee pads. When left alone, he is well behaved. Come and meet this cute pup. Please fill out an application http:// zanisfurryfriends.org/ applications.html and return via email to: dogs@ zanisfurryfriends.org. Many cats and dogs will be on display on Sundays, and sometimes on Saturdays—please ask which dogs will be there ahead of time by writing us at dogs@ zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that it can be sure to be there. And if you can't adopt, you can always donate via PayPal to: [email protected]. * * * FOOD ALERT: Euthanasia drug detected in Evanger’s Hunk of Beef Dog Food. We tagged along for the grand procession that passed throughout the cemetery and by candlelit graves of fallen soldiers from both sides of the conflict. The block that Kane grew up on 88th street near Colonial Road was formally dedicated Tom Kane Way and was even blessed by Reverend Gerard Sauer, the pastor of St. Mel's Church, a former associate pastor at Bay Ridge's St. Patrick's Church and a personal friend. A host of dignitaries were on hand to join Kane's family, friends and associates on this auspicious occasion. City Councilmember Vinnie Gentile -- who ensured the full Council approved the co-naming, wrote in the program, "A lifelong Bay Ridge resident, Tom's tremendous contributions and achievements left an indelible mark on the community he loved so much." Close friend Frankie Marra sang and played "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. Kane was a big, big Dylan fan! * * * Among the marching groups in the recent 147th annual Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade was the Society of Old Brookynites.
