8 MAY 26 - JUNE 1, 2017 BROOKLYN MEDIA GROUP COPS ARREST MAN FOR ALLEGEDLY ATTEMPTING TO RAPE BENSONHURST WOMAN A man cops say attempted to rape a woman in Bensonhurst has been arrested. The NYPD reports that 20-year-old Sunset Park resident Christopher Clemente was apprehended on Monday, May 22 at around 9:30 p.m. He was charged with attempted rape, forcible touching and sexual abuse. According to police, on Friday, May 5 The 62nd Precinct serves Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Gravesend. MANAGER HIT ATTACKED WITH GLASS BOTTLE: A 25-year-old man was arrested for attacking the manager of a bar near New Utrecht Avenue and 72nd Street on Thursday, May 18 at around 1:45 a.m. Reports claim that the male manager was in the bathroom washing his hands when the alleged attacker struck him with a glass bottle, slicing his arm. The victim was brought to NYU Lutheran Medical Center while the alleged assailant was apprehended by cops. UNWELCOME VISITORS BUSTED: A 37-year-old man and a 16-year-old male teen were busted for attacking and attempting to steal from a 35-year-old man inside his apartment near Avenue P and West 10th Street on Tuesday May 16 at around 2 p.m. Reports say that the two alleged perps broke into the victim’s apartment through the front door, and punched and kicked him, injuring him in the process. The two caused $250 worth of property damage, according to the police. The two were arrested by cops. POLICE BEAT at around 4:10 a.m., Clemente allegedly approached a 39-year-old woman while on the southbound N-train, talked to her and groped her breasts. After the woman left the Bay Parkway Station to try to get away from him, he allegedly followed her to Bay Parkway and 64th Street, put his arms around her and tried to drag her. After the woman struggled, she fell to the ground. Her assailant then allegedly climbed on top of her, pinned her arms and tried to rape her. After she yelled for help, police say he got up and fled southbound on Bay Parkway. —Jaime DeJesus Compiled by Jaime DeJesus COWARD HITS AND STEALS FROM 11-YEAR-OLD: A crook hit an 11-year-old boy and stole a book bag from him at 16th Avenue and 79th Street on Saturday, May 20 at around 12:55 p.m. Reports say that the victim had gone to the area to trade bags with the male perp when the creep punched him in the face and stole the bag before fleeing the scene. No arrests have been made. SHADY BURGLARY: An apartment near Bay 22nd Street and Cropsey Avenue was burglarized by unknown perps on Friday, May 19 at around 6:30 p.m. According to police reports, the resident, a 27-year-old woman, entered the apartment, put her purse on her bed, and stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. While smoking, she saw her landlord and two of his friends go into the house. Moments later, they left the area. When the woman went back inside her room, she noticed that her wallet had been taken from her purse. It contained $50 and credit cards. No arrests have been made. WOMAN STEALS OVER 1K WORTH OF GLASSES: A woman nabbed around $1,550 worth of glasses from an eye care clinic at 18th Avenue and 74th Street on Friday, May 19. Reports claim that at around 5:15 p.m., the perp entered the building and took the eyewear before fleeing the scene. The 72nd Precinct serves Sunset Park, Greenwood Heights, Windsor Terrace and South Park Slope. VIDEO STORE THIEF BUSTED: A 37-year-old man was busted by police for attempting to rob a 44-year-old man inside a video store at 39th Street and Third Avenue on Thursday, May 1 at around 1 a.m. According to reports, the victim recognized the alleged crook as someone who he believed had stolen some items from the store in the past. When the clerk told the man to leave the store, he refused. As he confronted the suspect, he tried to pull the victim’s chain from his neck, resulting in injuries. The suspect fled scene northbound on Third Avenue. Officers arrested him at 37th Street and Third Avenue. WOMAN ASSAULTED IN LOCAL EATERY: A 30-year-old woman was attacked by two women at an eatery on the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and 37th Street on Thursday, May 14 at around 4 a.m. Reports say she was eating tacos when the two assailants approached her and pushed her, dragged her by the hair and scratched her face. The two then fled the scene. The victim claims to not know the perps. No arrests have been made. MAN BUSTED FOR STABBING MAN IN THE BACK: Cops arrested a 55-year-old man for stabbing a 38-year-old man on the northeast corner of 49th Street and Fifth Avenue on Thursday, May 18 at around 12 p.m. Reports say that the victim was walking down the block when the alleged attacker, who was someone that he knew, took out a knife and stabbed him in the back twice before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim was rushed to NYU Lutheran Medical Center where he was treated for two stab wounds that required six stitches and a collapsed lung. Police arrested the alleged perp shortly after. TWO MEN BUSTED FOR ATTACKING AND STEALING FROM 26-YEAR-OLD: Two men were arrested for stealing cash and a cell phone from a 26-yearold man on Friday, May 19 at around 2 a.m. Cops say that at Fourth Avenue and 49th Street, the alleged crooks approached the man asking for money. When he said no, one of the men took out a knife while the other held the victim down and punched him in the face. The men then reportedly stole $340 and a cell phone from the victim, and fled the scene. Two suspects were arrested by police.
