St. Raymond Elementary School fourth and fi fth graders had a once in a lifetime opportunity to see and handle authentic 3,000-year-old Roman artifacts when Marisa Horowitz-Jaffe,
Museums with Marisa founder, presented her Discovering Ancient Rome! workshop on Tuesday, April 16 inside the school’s main library. Horowitz-Jaffe, an archaeologist and museum
educator, discussed the Forum, the Colosseum, Roman temples and the empire’s lesser known buildings.

TORRES, PARK ACTIVISTS DEMAND $$
After years of decreased funding and low staffi ng levels at the NYC Parks Department,
Councilman Ritchie Torres, Bronx Park East Community Association and New Yorkers for
Parks held a press conference demanding the Mayor invest $100 million in the Parks Department
to hire more full-time maintenance workers and fund other staffi ng needs.
