Side Plank Crunches: This move is a total waist-slimmer. Say goodbye to love handles and hello to carved-out obliques. Begin in a side plank with both legs stacked on top of the other, your bottom arm holding you up and your top arm resting on your waist. Slowly lower your hips until they almost touch the floor; using your abs lift yourself up to the starting position. Repeat for one-minute then switch sides. V-Ups: I have a love/hate relationship with this move. I love what they do for my abs but hate struggling through them. What doesn’t kill you, right? Begin by laying down on your back with your arms extended overhead. Using more strength from your abs rather than the momentum from your arms, lift yourself up into a sitting “V” position. Slowly (and I mean slowly!) lower yourself back down to the floor. Repeat for one minute. Plank Jacks: I love to end every workout with a plank move because it targets your entire body. Start in a plank position, only instead of the floor, your arms will rest on a desk or coffee table and your legs will extend behind you; make sure your bum is in one straight line with your body. Jump your legs out and back in as if you’re doing jumping jacks. This move should be quick and raise your heart rate. Repeat for one-minute. No way. Did I know where the campus gym was located? Yes - but I didn’t frequent it too often because the cafeteria with cookies was closer,” Mudano said of her habits while in college. “My four years of undergraduate study were wonderful, but I wouldn’t describe them as healthy. “If I knew then what I know now - that quality workouts trump quantity every time - the story might have been different,” she continued. “Now that I’ve found a fit lifestyle that works, I want to share it with the masses because we all deserve to be happy and healthy.”
